Start of a new month

Starting of the month, after my mum boards the transport, make my way to the Day Care Centre, as need to pay payment.

As usual, in the morning, it will be exercise time for the elderly.  As for those in my mum's group, before the start of the exercise, they will be ask questions like , what is my name (name of the staff conducting the exercise), what day is it today, what is the date today, where is this place.

My mum lunch - brown rice with cabbage, tofu and chicken.

After my mum has eaten, time for me to make a move.  I didn't go to the nearby eatery place, but go to one of the coffeeshop in West Coast which I didn't go for a long time.  Seem that most of the stalls are new to me.

In the end, I choose braise pork rice @ $4.50 which had braised pork, half egg, tau pok, salted vegetable, braised peanuts.

Just before my mum come back,  I thought I will be a busybody again, by going to Uncle Tang's place to see if he has come back home.

Good that Uncle Tang has been discharge and he mention he reach home around 1 plus and his brother-in-law fetch him.

He then said he wanted to give me a red packet which I told him no need.  If he wants, buy me a cup of coffee will do.

The next thing is, to inform the Chinese Ministry Pastor of PPH Brethren Church and PPHCSC.

Week 27 (Part 4)

30th Jun (Sat)

My mum doesn't wants to go church, manage to sweet talk her in going.

As usual, after service, was at Bukit Merah Central and the usual coffeeshop.  The coffeeshop was rather quiet and not much variety of foods to choose from.

My mum had porridge

with braised chicken, steamed egg and tofu @ $3.40.

I had Malay rice with chicken wing, chilli egg and begedil @ $3.30.

Good weather with no rain.

1st Jul (Sun)

Initially, I thought of bringing my mum to the Emergency Department in the Hospital due to her constipation problem.

Then I thought of the suppository that the Doctor prescribe the other time she went to see Doctor for her constipation problem.  So I decided to try on that first.

My mum was resistance when I want to insert the suppository for her that she push me away.  So I told her, if you doesn't want me to do it for you, then I have to bring you to the Doctor and let the Doctor do it for you.

In the end, I manage to insert it for her and within 15 minutes, bowel were out.

Was at a neighbourhood bakery, mouth itchy, must buy something to eat, so buy a 老婆饼 @ $1.20.

Week 27 (Part 3)

29th Jun (Fri)

Wet weather, raining cats and dogs.

As usual, breakfast in PPHCSC is beehoon with youtiao.

And as usual, Uncle Choo ask the same old question he has been asking and asking, your mum don't go to the Day Care Centre on Saturday and Sunday.  And I have to repeat and repeat that my mum only goes to the Day Care Centre from Monday to Friday, but not on Saturday and Sunday.

Then he share with me he used to have meals delivered to his house, but the delivery person saw his helper wheel his wife and the delivery of meal is terminated.

And now he has a new lobang, a free meal delivery to his house recommended by Social Worker.  But the quality of the foods will not be that good, items like sardine fish, peanut, etc.

He mention his helper can cook well, so I was asking him, since your helper can cook well, why not get your helper to go to the wet market or supermarket to buy raw foods and cook for the family.

Then he mention though the quality of the foods not that good, it's free, can save money.

After the breakfast session at PPHCSC, I need to go Jurong East attend to something, since I still have time after i'm done with what I need to do, I decided to visit neighbour uncle.  His wife mention that he has a fever last night and also infection, so he can't be discharge on Monday.

Had a pandan cake and a cup of kopi (didn't take picture) @ $2.80.

Due to time constraint as I need to be back before the transport bring my mum back,  I didn't visit Uncle Tang.

Week 27 (Part 2)

27th Jun (Wed)

While waiting for the transport with my mum, open the letterbox.  A surprise awaits me.

Receive a postcard from TM who went Hong Kong with his wife recently.

Since Bible Study Fellowship has resume, of course, there's homework to be done.

Beside, raining like cats and dogs.

So, my meal will be maggie mee with egg and meatball.

As when I thought that the weather is "fine" after the rain in the morning, it started to drizzle at 6 plus before the start of the workout.  Disappointed as yesterday, due to Bible Study Fellowship, no workout for me and I thought I could burn away some calories and now no workout.

28th Jun (Thur)

I was at the supermarket in JEM buying grocery.  Then nasi lemak came into my mind.

So my lunch is nasi lemak @ $4.80.  The nasi lemak set comes with 1 oath, 2 ebi fry, 1 fishcake, ikan bilis with peanuts and a slice of cumember.

Then I was thinking about whether Uncle Tang and the neighbourhood Uncle has been discharge. Since I did bring my original identify card (nowadays, usually most of the time, I don't bring my original identify card out, unless I need to go to the bank, see doctor, etc), i thought I will make a trip to the hospital to check it out. 

Uncle Tang is still there.  Good news that I heard from him is that, he can be discharge tomorrow, but his next-of-kin is not free to fetch him.  So he will be discharge on Monday.

As Uncle Tang is in Jurong Community Hospital (Tower C), I was not too sure what's the difference between Ng Teng Fong Hospital (Tower B) and Jurong Community Tower (Tower C).  So I went to ask the nurse, I was told, Tower B is for acute condition whereby Tower C, more to rehabilitation.

After visiting Uncle Tang, went over Tower B to check whether neighbourhood Uncle has been discharge.

As I have register last Friday when I visited Uncle, from what I understand, if the patient is still in the ward, I do not need to register again.  I just need to scan my identify card in the gantry.

When I was in the ward, I couldn't find Uncle, a nurse must be seeing that I am lost, ask me who am I looking for, and she help sme to check, then realise that Uncle has change ward.

Another good news, Uncle can be discharge on Monday.

Since I didn't exercise for 2 days, must exercise liao.  Workout with macho instructor to burn off calories.

Week 27 (Part 1)

25th Jun (Mon)

I was in the vicinity of Jurong West as I need to get stuff from there.

There's this stall inside one of the coffeeshop selling kolo mee, Sarawak laksa, etc which has been around for quite sometimes.  And the foods, so so only, nothing to shout about. Actually I have something in mind to eat, but that stall, the foods is not ready yet.  And Monday, most of the stalls in the hawker centre is not open and I am lazy to walk back to the hawker centre.  So I order a bowl of Sarawak laksa @ $4.  It comes with shredded egg, shredded chicken, 3 small prawns and the worst part is, the prawns is not even fresh.

Attended a talk at the church.
Topic : 十点十分人

After the talk ends, we were told to go to the 2nd storey as there's lunch provided.

I was asking whether any table can sit, a helper leads me to a table.  I notice that there's number in the table, where I was told that every Tuesday, there's activities in the church, different activities each week.  Attendance will be taken and each person will sit in the table that is assign.

Told the helper that I thought this is only a one time event as I saw about this event in the weekly church bulletin.

Then there was this grumpy lady in the table, looking at me and asking me which table number I was from and I was supposed to be sitting in the table number I was assign.  Reply her, I do not know as a helper leads me to this table.

Then the helper came back with a lunch box in which I ask if there are enough, if not enough, I will eat elsewhere, actually I have in mind where and what to eat if there is no lunch provided.

On the way home, I went Hoo Kee Bak Chang, Bukit Merah Outlet, Blk 161 Bukit Merah Central, #01－3735, Singapore 150161.

Bought a salted egg yolk bak chang with chestnut @ $4.

My Bible Study Fellowship resume, I was very tired and feeling very sleepy, I know I am very in need of a cup of kopi to keeps me awake.  Indeed it has kept me awake and I didn't doze off during the Bible Study Fellowship.

Weekend

23rd Jun (Sat)

Start my day with exercise, but rushing for me, as after the exercise, I need to go back shower, make sure my mum takes her lunch, then rush to church for cell group.

While on the way back, saw flower along the way.

After the cell group at church, I didn't stay for service as I need to rush off for a Caregiver Support Group at New Horizon Centre (Jurong Point) which starts at 2.30pm.  Topic is Effective Communication in Dementia Care by Cai Suqi, Social Worker (Alzheimer's Disease Association).

After the sharing by the speaker, refreshments is provided.  I did manage to chit chat with some participants.

There's a participant who mention that she went for the assessment with her mum at the Day Care Centre and her mum throw tantrum during the assessment and she was wondering how will it be when her mum starts Day Care Centre on Monday.

That reminds me of my mum when she went for the assessment at the Day Care Centre, she was okay during the assessment.  Only the day before when I told her that she's going to the Day Care Centre then that she throw tantrum, guess she might be thinking that I am sending her to the Nursing Home. And the day itself, she throw tantrum too, that I got to tell her that she will be going there in the morning and coming back in the afternoon.  And tell her she will follow the transport, whereby I will go to the Day Care Centre after she boards the transport as the transport is meant for her only.

Needs to buy dinner for my mum and was at Malaysia Boleh, saw pig organ soup which I had not try before, so order a bowl at $4.50.

I was bless with some tau sar peah from my neighbour auntie (The auntie who also goes to the Day Care Centre, but different centre as my mum) daughter, who went Ipoh, from what I was told, it's 现做现卖.

24th Jun (Sun)

Zone 2 RC Senior Friendship Circle (For age 60 and above) is on every 4th Sunday of the month.

Told my mum, we go RC there, got food to eat.  Surprise that she said ok, if not, I have to come out with all sort of excuses to make her go.

Breakfast for that day - tang hoon with ingredients, my mum can't finish, no prize for guessing who has to finish it up for her.

After the breakfast session, we went to the nearby coffeeshop to eat her favourite sliced fish mee sua.  Order a bowl of sliced fish mee sua @ $3.50 with 3 dumplings @ $1.80 to share.  Total : $5.30

Afternoon, there is a combined cell meeting at church.  Lunch is provided.  My mum doesn't wants to go, reason being she wants to rest.

After the meeting, need to buy dinner for my mum and I had a plate of wanton noodle, no char siew, only wanton @ $3.30.  After eating the wanton noodle, I realise that I have overeat for the day.  As usually, I do not take rice or noodle for dinner.  Unless I am taking rice or noodle for dinner, then my lunch will be no rice or noodle.

1st Friday of the month, no breakfast session at PPHCSC as the staff went on a 1 day outing with some residents to Kluang.

2nd Friday of the month, staff of PPHCSC went church camp, so no breakfast session.

3rd Friday of the month, also no breakfast session, as it's Hari Raya Puasa.

This Friday, breakfast session resume.

As usual, bee hoon with you tiao, and then birthday celebration for those born in the month of June.

Then it's bingo time

Heard from a staff of PPHCSC that Uncle Tang is in hospital, got his ward and bed no., decided to pay him a visit.

While in the hospital, bump into a neighbourhood auntie, auntie and her husband and helper every Friday will be in PPHCSC for the Friday breakfast session.  Auntie husband is in hospital.  Auntie thought that my mum is in hospital, reply her that my mum is in the Day Care Centre, I came to the hospital to visit a neighbourhood uncle. 

Went with her to visit her husband, was surprise to see that the bed next to uncle, is a neighbourhood Malay uncle.

While at the ward, the couple helper is going back, auntie ask the helper to come back at 5pm, so as to feed uncle dinner.  She mention uncle doesn't wants her to feed, but the helper feed, he's ok.  

Was telling her, same case with my mum.  The Day Care Centre has told me that my mum's fingernails is long and ask me to cut for her.  But my mum has been giving all sorts of excuses, but when the Day Care Centre staff cut for her, she's ok.

The first time that comes to my mind is to inform the Chinese ministry Pastor of PPH Brethren Church as earlier on, during the breakfast session (Pastor is there), he mention that he will be visiting Uncle Tang.

After visiting Uncle Tang, went Hanis have dessert before going back.

Apple pie @ $2.50 with a coffee (I didn't take picture) @ $1.70.

Bought a squid otah @ $1.70 from Jem back home to eat.
