A Hectic Day

Started the day by bringing my mum to PPH Community Services Centre for the weekly Friday Breakfast Session.

As we were early, the door were not open yet, we waited outside, saw a cat there, so took picture of it.

Had milo

Understand usually the porridge, it's order from outside, this round, the porridge is cooked by a staff from PPH CSC.

This week, it's vegetarian bee hoon, with youtiao.

As it's the first Friday of the month, they celebrate the Birthday for those born in May.  Same cake as last month, Mango Cake.

I mention in an earlier post about my mum incident in the church while going for the Seniors Party at the Church.  Guess the Church has mention about it to the PPH Community Services Centre.  As a few days later after the incident, two staffs from the Community Services Centre came to visit my mum to discuss about referring her to Social Worker.  For me, I am ok with it.  So they went ahead and process it.  A week later, the Social Worker called up and made an appointment to visit her on last Friday at 10.30am.

After the Birthday celebration at the PPH Community Services Centre, they played Bingo, can only play 1 round, then bring my mum home to wait for the arrival of the Social Worker.

The Social Worker came and talk to my mum, some questionnaire for her to answer (no right or wrong answer).  The visit took about 1 1/2 hours.

Earlier on, at PPH Community Services Centre, an auntie commented that my mum hair needs a haircut and ask me to bring her for the haircut.  After the Social Worker left, I had a short rest before bringing my mum to Jurong East Central for a haircut.

Coincidence, bumped into a Church friend father (my mum also know the father), whom I have not seem for a long time. He's going to the Shopping Centre there jalan jalan.  He mention that his wife had a fall and was hospitalization for 6 days and is now at home.  He wanted to buy my mum coffee (of course, if to go for coffee, I can't let Uncle treat also, paiseh), as my mum is going for haircut, so we didn't go for coffee and parted our way.

After my mum haircut, we went to makan, I had kway chap, the chap @ $0.50.

The ingredients @ $3.30

After makan, we went home and I called my Zumba kaki.  Her mum was hospitalize, ask her if I could visit her mum the next day (Sat), she mention her mum is very weak and not advisable.

Rested till it's time to go for my workout at the Neighbourhood Park before calling it a day after the workout.

This morning, I WhatsApp my Zumba Kaki asking her how's her mum, at the moment, I won't get to see her as she need to take care of her mum.

My first experiene

Last Saturday, I went to JB to meetup with my friends and also to celebrate a friend Birthday. I left my house at 11am, I was meeting my friend at 2pm to pick me up before proceed to meet another friend..

This round, I took Bus No. 160 from Jurong East Temporary Bus Interchange, going by Woodlands Checkpoint. When the bus reached Woodlands Road, saw many slow moving heavy vehicles, my guess is that the Checkpoint must be jam.

When the bus turn towards Woodlands Checkpoint, saw many cars, but the bus land, it was smooth.

After clearing the Singapore Immigration, while going to wait for the bus to take me to Malaysia Immigration, it was long Q and also many buses which seem not to move.

Then came a mother and daughter who Q behind me, they were mentioning about walking to Malaysia Immigration, so I curiously ask, can walk, as I thought can't walk since the opening of the Banglunan Sultan Iskandar Immigration.  Since they are walking, I decided to walk too.  So it's like people walk where, I just follow.

Along the way, saw jam along the causeway

Trees along the causeway

Sea

Walking towards Malaysia

The walking path is narrow, so I didn't manage to talk much to the mum and daughter as many people walking, they will want to overtake.

Coming to this part of the road, Malaysia side, have to be caution while walking, as no walking path for walkers.

Takes me about 1/2 hour to walk from Singapore Immigration to Malaysia Immigration.  I was in a state of shock when I arrived at the Immigration area.  I mange to reach Malaysia at around 1.20pm.  Since it's a long weekend, I thought morning, the jam will be very bad, and afternoon, won't be that bad.  I was wrong, the whole places was people mountain, people sea and was slow moving.  I only manage to clear Malaysia Immigration at around 3.10pm.

It's Sunday

I was worried that my mum will soil while going to church, as that morning, she didn't do her business.  Before going out, I check on her, no soil.  Thank God she didn't soil while outside.

As usual, my mum will leave slightly early before the service end and to the refreshment area, Pandan Chiffon Cake is served.

Bun with Curry filling

Puff pastry with Sausage filling

Earlier on in the morning, I have ask my mum whether she wants to follow the transport back or go elsewhere for lunch, she said later then decided, while in the refreshment area in the church, I ask her, she mention she wanted to go Harbourfront Seah Im Food Centre for lunch.  She wanted Duck rice, since she didn't take breakfast that morning, as she mention she's not hungry, so I ordered a large Duck yam rice $3.80 plus a liver $0.50 for her.

The Fried Oyster stall is next to the Duck rice stall, so ordered a small plate @ $3.  After having this, I have to work hard to burn off.

Not a smooth weekend

As normal, my mum went to PPH Community Services Centre on Friday (21st Apr) for the weekly breakfast.

(1) Someone was asking if i'm using recycled material or title only in an earlier PPH Breakfast post, only that the title for the post that time is recycled but not the material post as the foods they serve every week, is almost the same, bee hoon, only foods that change is either mee or kway teow.  Youtiao or fried butterfly bun.

(2) As usual, porridge is served

(3) They have a machine there where a person can choose the drink, they have milo, a few types of coffee, soy milk, teh tarik.

The church have a Seniors Party on Saturday (22nd Apr) at the Church premises where they have light exercise, singalong, games and also lunch is provided .  Earlier on, i have sign up for my mum as thought it will be good for her to go, to mixed around with those who went too, and to let her enjoy herself there, better than she sit at home doing nothing, staring at the four walls. Transport is provided from PPH Community Services Centre to the Church.

In the morning, she has done a bit of business, so i thought, that's good, she has did her business.  So we went for the Seniors Party.  When reaching the Church, while taking the lift, some of the residents sense a smell from the lift. At that time, as the lift is crowded, i didn't manage to stand close to my mum.  When at the venue for the Seniors Party, a PPH staff came up to my mum and told my mum that she soil and needs to clear up her faeces and then take a shower.  Nowadays, if my mum soils, she doesn't knows about it, haiz... The PPH Staff was saiding if my mum were to come out, should wear adult diaper, the problem is, my mum doesn't want.  And also didn't expect this will happen, and she did a bit of business in the morning already,  didn't bring any extra clothes, towel, soap, etc.  The PPH Staff manged to find colgate to substitute as soap and a towel and sarong to wrap up her lower part of the body. Thank God for her help.  She also mention might catch a cold, so better for my mum to go back.  Thank God for a guy who send us home.  The guy brings his mum to the Seniors Party and is waiting for the Seniors Party to end to bring the mum home.

The next day, which is Sunday, going to Church day, i was worried she might soil again, so before leaving home to go wait for the transport, i decided to check on her again, true enough, she soils, managed to get her to change before leaving to PPH Community Service Centre to wait for the transport to Church.

(4)  The refreshment for that day is hosted by the grandparents of a baby boy.  Usually my mum will leave just when the service is about to end.  So i thought we were early at the refreshment area, while the rest is not there yet, i could take picture of the foods, then came a guy who came to chit chat with us, so only manage to take a picture of some foods that is left.  They do also have a glutinous rice with hei bi hiam, finish liao before i could take picture.

(5) Earlier on, at home, i have ask my mum, after service, she wants to follow the transport back or go elsewhere for lunch, her reply is that later then decide.  So during the refreshment time, i ask her, she reply she wants to go Harbourfront, Seah Im Food Centre for lunch.  This round, she is ok to walk and didn't grumble about the walking distance. She wants Mutton Soup.

(6) With Bread, cost $4.50

(7) The mutton

(8) Ordered a gado gado @ $3

After that, went one round at Habourfront Centre before going back.
