Week 27 (Part 3)

29th Jun (Fri)

Wet weather, raining cats and dogs.

As usual, breakfast in PPHCSC is beehoon with youtiao.

And as usual, Uncle Choo ask the same old question he has been asking and asking, your mum don't go to the Day Care Centre on Saturday and Sunday.  And I have to repeat and repeat that my mum only goes to the Day Care Centre from Monday to Friday, but not on Saturday and Sunday.

Then he share with me he used to have meals delivered to his house, but the delivery person saw his helper wheel his wife and the delivery of meal is terminated.

And now he has a new lobang, a free meal delivery to his house recommended by Social Worker.  But the quality of the foods will not be that good, items like sardine fish, peanut, etc.

He mention his helper can cook well, so I was asking him, since your helper can cook well, why not get your helper to go to the wet market or supermarket to buy raw foods and cook for the family.

Then he mention though the quality of the foods not that good, it's free, can save money.

After the breakfast session at PPHCSC, I need to go Jurong East attend to something, since I still have time after i'm done with what I need to do, I decided to visit neighbour uncle.  His wife mention that he has a fever last night and also infection, so he can't be discharge on Monday.

Had a pandan cake and a cup of kopi (didn't take picture) @ $2.80.

Due to time constraint as I need to be back before the transport bring my mum back,  I didn't visit Uncle Tang.

Week 27 (Part 2)

27th Jun (Wed)

While waiting for the transport with my mum, open the letterbox.  A surprise awaits me.

Receive a postcard from TM who went Hong Kong with his wife recently.

Since Bible Study Fellowship has resume, of course, there's homework to be done.

Beside, raining like cats and dogs.

So, my meal will be maggie mee with egg and meatball.

As when I thought that the weather is "fine" after the rain in the morning, it started to drizzle at 6 plus before the start of the workout.  Disappointed as yesterday, due to Bible Study Fellowship, no workout for me and I thought I could burn away some calories and now no workout.

28th Jun (Thur)

I was at the supermarket in JEM buying grocery.  Then nasi lemak came into my mind.

So my lunch is nasi lemak @ $4.80.  The nasi lemak set comes with 1 oath, 2 ebi fry, 1 fishcake, ikan bilis with peanuts and a slice of cumember.

Then I was thinking about whether Uncle Tang and the neighbourhood Uncle has been discharge. Since I did bring my original identify card (nowadays, usually most of the time, I don't bring my original identify card out, unless I need to go to the bank, see doctor, etc), i thought I will make a trip to the hospital to check it out.

Uncle Tang is still there.  Good news that I heard from him is that, he can be discharge tomorrow, but his next-of-kin is not free to fetch him.  So he will be discharge on Monday.

As Uncle Tang is in Jurong Community Hospital (Tower C), I was not too sure what's the difference between Ng Teng Fong Hospital (Tower B) and Jurong Community Tower (Tower C).  So I went to ask the nurse, I was told, Tower B is for acute condition whereby Tower C, more to rehabilitation.

After visiting Uncle Tang, went over Tower B to check whether neighbourhood Uncle has been discharge.

As I have register last Friday when I visited Uncle, from what I understand, if the patient is still in the ward, I do not need to register again.  I just need to scan my identify card in the gantry.

When I was in the ward, I couldn't find Uncle, a nurse must be seeing that I am lost, ask me who am I looking for, and she help sme to check, then realise that Uncle has change ward.

Another good news, Uncle can be discharge on Monday.

A cup of coffee before I go back

Since I didn't exercise for 2 days, must exercise liao.  Workout with macho instructor to burn off calories.

Week 27 (Part 1)

25th Jun (Mon)

I was in the vicinity of Jurong West as I need to get stuff from there.

There's this stall inside one of the coffeeshop selling kolo mee, Sarawak laksa, etc which has been around for quite sometimes.  And the foods, so so only, nothing to shout about. Actually I have something in mind to eat, but that stall, the foods is not ready yet.  And Monday, most of the stalls in the hawker centre is not open and I am lazy to walk back to the hawker centre.  So I order a bowl of Sarawak laksa @ $4.  It comes with shredded egg, shredded chicken, 3 small prawns and the worst part is, the prawns is not even fresh.

The chilli sauce

26th Jun (Tue)

Attended a talk at the church.
Topic : 十点十分人
Speaker : 容浩然牧师

After the talk ends, we were told to go to the 2nd storey as there's lunch provided.

I was asking whether any table can sit, a helper leads me to a table.  I notice that there's number in the table, where I was told that every Tuesday, there's activities in the church, different activities each week.  Attendance will be taken and each person will sit in the table that is assign.

Told the helper that I thought this is only a one time event as I saw about this event in the weekly church bulletin.

Then there was this grumpy lady in the table, looking at me and asking me which table number I was from and I was supposed to be sitting in the table number I was assign.  Reply her, I do not know as a helper leads me to this table.

Then the helper came back with a lunch box in which I ask if there are enough, if not enough, I will eat elsewhere, actually I have in mind where and what to eat if there is no lunch provided.

On the way home, I went Hoo Kee Bak Chang, Bukit Merah Outlet, Blk 161 Bukit Merah Central, #01-3735, Singapore 150161.

Bought a salted egg yolk bak chang with chestnut @ $4.

The inside of the Chang

My Bible Study Fellowship resume, I was very tired and feeling very sleepy, I know I am very in need of a cup of kopi to keeps me awake.  Indeed it has kept me awake and I didn't doze off during the Bible Study Fellowship.

20th Jun (Wed)

20th Jun (Wed)

The weather is very hot when my mum was at the void deck waiting for the transport.  But 10 to 15 minutes after my mum board the transport, it started to rain cats and dogs.

I bought a bottle of cai po @ $3

Fried egg with cai po comes into my mind and I decided to cook it.

Earlier on, I received a SMS from one of the  Day Care Centre staff telling me that my mum fingernails is long and ask me to cut my mum fingernails.  Reply the staff to tell her himself also, see what my mum will said.  As usually, my mum will said, cut already, still have to cut.  So short, no need to cut, etc.  Then I received a SMS message from the staff again asking me to bring the nail cutter to the Day Care Centre and another staff will try to cut for her.

So I decided to go to the Day Care Centre in the afternoon.  When my mum saw me, the first thing she tell me, bring me to the toilet.  The worst part is, gong xi fa cai, she soil her undergarment.   Got to change for her and then I didn't stay in the Day Care Centre but quickly bring the dirty undergarment back to wash.

As the Doctor has prescribe 1 Bisacodyl Suppository and Fybogel Powder for my mum's constipation, I didn't insert the suppository but let her take the Fybogel Powder, didn't expect it to work so fast as the pharmacist mention it takes around 3 days.

19th Jun

19th Jun (Tue)

Usually, Polyclinic is always crowded and if no appointment, have to wait very long.  Their online appointment, only same day appointment.

Early in the morning, I have to go online and make an appointment for my mum.  Then, have to call the Day Care Centre and inform them that my mum will be going to the Doctor and then whatsapp the staff who ferry my mum to the Day Care Centre not to fetch my mum.

The Doctor was mentioning about inserting bisacodyl suppository into my mum rectum, it might takes 15 minutes to take effect, vary on different people.  In the end, the Doctor prescribe it to be taken back home.  As he mention, maybe if he were to do it on the spot, on the way home, my mum might have bowel movement.

After seeing the Doctor, ask my mum if she wants to go to the Day Care Centre, if not, thought of bringing her see where she wants to go makan to have our lunch.

She wants to go to the Day Care Centre, so bring her to the Day Care Centre.

My mum lunch, dry hor fun with fish and vegetables.

My lunch at a nearby coffeeshop, fishball mee pok @ $2.50.

After that, I did not go back to the Day Care Centre.  Was tired, so went back for a nap.

18th Jun

18th Jun (Mon)

Initially, my plan is to bring my mum to the doctor due to her constipation problem.  But she throw tantrum and insist on not going to the doctor.  Told her, if by next morning, there is still no bowel movement, she needs to go see doctor.

After my mum boards the transport, I was at PPHCSC, one of the staff ask me whether if I did got hold of Uncle Tang (I ever mention to her about Uncle Tang), she then told me they couldn't get hold of him and she didn't see him in church yesterday.  Uncle Tang attends PPH Brethren Church.  The staff then mention will try to contact his next-of-kin.  Something then comes into my mind, which is, could he be in hospital.  The staff then mention they ever have a case where they can't get hold of a person and they called up the hospital, at that time, hospital did release some information but not, not sure if hospital will release any information.

Before going to buy grocery, again, I went knocking at Uncle Tang door, but still couldn't get hold of him.

I was craving for fried chicken, and Popeyes came into my mind.  Ordered a 2 piece meal which comes with a biscuits and 2 pieces of chicken, 1 mild and 1 spicy.

The mashed potato should be regular size, as my mum loves mashed potato, I upsize from regular to large and bring back for my mum to eat.

Also a regular size soft drink, total : $9.10

My mum was schedule to see the specialist at the hospital in the afternoon.

As usual, she goes to the Day Care Centre in the morning.  Went in after her lunch at the Day Care Centre to bring her for her medical appointment.

with kway teow @ $5.50

After seeing the specialist, we were at Hanis and my mum wants Western food.  As my mum has slight cough, didn't order chicken for her but fish and chips set @ $9.80.

Thought of ordering ice lemon tea, but was thinking, since she's coughing, hot beverage will be better, so coffee.

Week 23 (Part 1)

4th Jun (Mon)

Yesterday, while waiting for the transport outside PPHCSC to go church, Uncle Tang (Uncle Tang is usually very early at the venue) was not there, a neighbourhood neighbour was mentioning previously while talking to Uncle Tang, she notice that his mouth has dropped, she was worry he might get a stroke and need to find out.

After my mum boards the transport to the Day Care Centre.  I decided to pay Uncle Tang a visit (he has given me his address before), but nobody answer the door.  So I make my way to the supermarket to buy grocery.

Before going to the supermarket, I made a stop at the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) office at the Hospital to make enquiry.

Before my mum goes to the Day Care Centre in Feb 2018, the ex-chairman wife of one of the RC in my Constitution has tell me to go Meet-the-People Session to see MP to apply for wheelchair for my mum as she see my mum having difficulty walking.

Recently, an Uncle, a frequent at PPHCSC Friday breakfast, I bump into him, told me to go Meet-the-People Session see MP request for a wheelchair for my mum as he see my mum having difficulty walking.  He told me he has gone to the MP to apply for a wheelchair for his wife and there is 90% subsidy.

Then another round, the ex RC Chairman came and tell me to go Meet-the-People Session see MP apply wheelchair.

All the while, I have no intention to let my mum sit wheelchair, yes, she walks very slow, but she still can walk, so my view is she can walk, let her walk.

There's a day, I went to ask the Executive Director of PPHCSC, Ms R, Ms R is helping out at the weekly Meet-the -People Session.  She was telling me no need to go see MP, if go, only fill up form.  She was also saiding, the decision lies in me, if I were to let my mum sits wheelchair, my mum might not wants to walk, in which I was thinking too.

Yesterday, Uncle Choo and his son was at church, after the service, father and son went to the hospital visit Mrs Choo, while my mum and I went Harbourfront.  On the way back home, bump into them at the bus.  Was chatting with Mr Choo, where he mention his wife now doesn't have the strength to walk and the helper has to wheel the wife around.  That's what worry me too, if I were to let my mum sit in the wheelchair.

At the AIC office, the lady was asking me, can my mum walk.  My reply is yes, my mum cam walk, but very slow, beside my mum doesn't feel breathless when she walk. She then was saying, if my mum can walk, let her walk, why let her sit wheelchair.

If touchwood, my mum really needs wheelchair, when my mum has appointment with the Doctor in the hospital, tell the Doctor, they will arrange for the Occupational Therapist to do the assessment and put up.  I have to pay 10%.

Then went to buy grocery and then lunch.

Sausage, ham, egg set @ $6

Add $1, comes with garlic bread, which I find it had turn cold and not so nice already.

And a mushroom soup

After unpacking the grocery and rest for a while, I decided to go and knock on Uncle Tang's door, again, nobody open the door.

As my mum has been having a cough since last Thursday, and she doesn't wants to see doctor, so I went on behalf of my mum to the General Practitioner that my mum sees before she was admitted to the hospital the other time and was given cough syrup.  The best part is no payment from my side is required (my mum has the Pioneer Generation subsidies).
