Start of a new month

2th Jul (Mon)

Starting of the month, after my mum boards the transport, make my way to the Day Care Centre, as need to pay payment.

As usual, in the morning, it will be exercise time for the elderly.  As for those in my mum's group, before the start of the exercise, they will be ask questions like , what is my name (name of the staff conducting the exercise), what day is it today, what is the date today, where is this place.

My mum lunch - brown rice with cabbage, tofu and chicken.

After my mum has eaten, time for me to make a move.  I didn't go to the nearby eatery place, but go to one of the coffeeshop in West Coast which I didn't go for a long time.  Seem that most of the stalls are new to me.

In the end, I choose braise pork rice @ $4.50 which had braised pork, half egg, tau pok, salted vegetable, braised peanuts.

The soup

Just before my mum come back,  I thought I will be a busybody again, by going to Uncle Tang's place to see if he has come back home.

Good that Uncle Tang has been discharge and he mention he reach home around 1 plus and his brother-in-law fetch him.

He then said he wanted to give me a red packet which I told him no need.  If he wants, buy me a cup of coffee will do.

The next thing is, to inform the Chinese Ministry Pastor of PPH Brethren Church and PPHCSC.

20th Jun (Wed)

20th Jun (Wed)

The weather is very hot when my mum was at the void deck waiting for the transport.  But 10 to 15 minutes after my mum board the transport, it started to rain cats and dogs.

I bought a bottle of cai po @ $3

Fried egg with cai po comes into my mind and I decided to cook it.

Earlier on, I received a SMS from one of the  Day Care Centre staff telling me that my mum fingernails is long and ask me to cut my mum fingernails.  Reply the staff to tell her himself also, see what my mum will said.  As usually, my mum will said, cut already, still have to cut.  So short, no need to cut, etc.  Then I received a SMS message from the staff again asking me to bring the nail cutter to the Day Care Centre and another staff will try to cut for her.

So I decided to go to the Day Care Centre in the afternoon.  When my mum saw me, the first thing she tell me, bring me to the toilet.  The worst part is, gong xi fa cai, she soil her undergarment.   Got to change for her and then I didn't stay in the Day Care Centre but quickly bring the dirty undergarment back to wash.

As the Doctor has prescribe 1 Bisacodyl Suppository and Fybogel Powder for my mum's constipation, I didn't insert the suppository but let her take the Fybogel Powder, didn't expect it to work so fast as the pharmacist mention it takes around 3 days.

Usually, Polyclinic is always crowded and if no appointment, have to wait very long.  Their online appointment, only same day appointment.

Early in the morning, I have to go online and make an appointment for my mum.  Then, have to call the Day Care Centre and inform them that my mum will be going to the Doctor and then whatsapp the staff who ferry my mum to the Day Care Centre not to fetch my mum.

The Doctor was mentioning about inserting bisacodyl suppository into my mum rectum, it might takes 15 minutes to take effect, vary on different people.  In the end, the Doctor prescribe it to be taken back home.  As he mention, maybe if he were to do it on the spot, on the way home, my mum might have bowel movement.

After seeing the Doctor, ask my mum if she wants to go to the Day Care Centre, if not, thought of bringing her see where she wants to go makan to have our lunch.

She wants to go to the Day Care Centre, so bring her to the Day Care Centre.

My mum lunch, dry hor fun with fish and vegetables.

My lunch at a nearby coffeeshop, fishball mee pok @ $2.50.

After that, I did not go back to the Day Care Centre.  Was tired, so went back for a nap.

Then, went to volunteer at an outreach event by Caregivers Alliance Limited to introduce about Caregivers Alliance Limited at a breakfast session organise by Bukit Batok Zone 3 RC.

The Chairlady has ask us to help ourself to the breakfast, but my group, nobody has taken yet, so I was shy to take.  And beside, the residents paid $2 for it and I didn't pay.  So wait till nobody else has taken the foods, then I went to take.  Left only beehoon and potato salad.

A cake for Parents Day, coffee cake which I saw one of the volunteer bring in the cake, the box, from Bengawan Solo.  The cake is nice.

After the session, I thought of going church, but if I go church, by the time I reach home, it will be evening time.  I don't feel at peace  my mum at home alone and not sure if she has eaten.  So I drop the idea of going church.

Fee is $50 for Singaporean after subsidy.  Heard that at age 50, it's free, after 50, have to pay $50 and can used medisave, too bad, I can't use medisave.

24th May (Thur)

After my mum boards the transport, I walk over to PPHCSC, as I wants to check with the Executive Director on an issue in regards to my mum.

The Social Worker who visit my mum monthly, SMS me yesterday that she will be visiting my mum in the Day Care Centre.  So I went to the Day Care Centre.

Didn't see Ah Ma C and her helper, ask Uncle T helper, was told Ah Ma C was making noise during the night and the helper not enough sleep, tired, so was not at the Day Care Centre.

During the exercise session, was chatting with Uncle T helper where she mention she taking care of Uncle T in the night and she sleep in the same room with Uncle T, Uncle T, if didn't sleep at night, will wake her up and if she didn't wake up, will throw pillow at her.

As the Malay guy is not there, the exercise session in the morning was rather quiet.

After the exercise, and after my mum go toilet, ask the auntie (the one who always ask transport come already anot - same table with my mum), if she wants to go toilet, she was worried her seat might be taken up by other's, so I was told to "keep an eye" on her seat while the staff wheel her to the toilet.

Lunch is brown rice with cauliflower and mushroom, fish and egg.

Thought I will go back after my mum has taken her lunch, but she ask me to stay on.

So lunch was ee mian @ $4 from the nearby coffeeshop.

While at the coffeeshop, bump into Uncle T wife, the Uncle who had a fall, ask the wife how he fell, was told he fell at home.  I was telling her, the other time I ask Uncle T, he said he fell at the Day Care Centre.  The wife was saiding he ever had an operation in the brain, he was confuse.

As today is the 4th Thursday, Chinese Ministry Pastor and volunteers from PPH Brethren Church is in the Day Care Centre.

Before the start of the program, ask auntie again if she wants to go toilet, her reply is if she go toilet, the transport come and don't see her, the transport will leave without her.  And ask me to tell the staff, when the transport come, wait for her while she go toilet.

When the transport arrive, the staff was mentioning, they will have staff around the area where my mum's sit to monitor the situation.

Laksa prepare by staffs of PPHCSC

An auntie was mentioning to me that Uncle Choo wife was in Hospital.  Uncle Choo was there, ask him about it and which Hospital his wife is in.  But he doesn't know the ward and bed no.

So after the breakfast session, went to the Hospital to visit Mrs Choo.  Since I do not have the ward and bed no., I need to check with the Information Counter.

The first thing Mrs Choo ask me when she saw me is, did you buy anything for me to eat?  I want to eat mee siam, curry.  Reply her, if I were to buy this foods for you, I will be scolded by the doctor and nurses.  Hospital foods is healthy.

The Chinese Ministry Pastor was there to visit and pray for her.  She ask the Chinese Ministry Pastor the same question she ask me.

After that, went to the Day Care Centre.  This round, my mum sit with the Malay guy.  As usual, he was talking non stop.  He ask my mum to give me a slap.  Another moment, I  am a gorilla in the jungle.  Next moment, ask me how come I am not cutting the grass as I am a gardener.  My mum was laughing at what he said, when then he said to my mum, I love you.  Reply him, my mum happy to see you, but she don't love you.

Afternoon activity is bingo.

Tea break for my mum - a piece of cake

Usually after tea break, the elderly will get ready to go home.  The Malay guy was saiding he's taking helicopter back.

As now is Ramadhan month, I went down to the hawker centre after my mum is back from the Day Care Centre as during the Ramadhan month, the Malay stall will sell foods like kuehs, cutty puff, etc. for 1 month.

Bought 2 pieces of kueh at $1

As for dinner, I didn't manage to buy anything as the rice they have, only have rendang which I don't feel like having, and they do not have chicken.

I thought of going to the halal coffeeshop which is a bit of walking distance away, but it started to rain heavily, and not sure when will the rain stop, so drop the idea.

Over at my place there, there's a supermarket which is within walking distance, around 5 - 8 minutes, but I hardly buy from that supermarket.  It so happen I need to buy fruit, so I went to the supermarket and then to have lunch.

Had kway teow with prawns fritter and 海带 @ $3.70.

The prawns fritter is nice, only that the prawns is small.

As for the 海带, I don't really like it

Find that the kway teow is oily

Went to the Day Care Centre in the afternoon.  Usually the afternoon activity is from 1.30pm to 2.45pm.  My mum was assign to a handicraft session.  The session ends at 2.30pm.  So my mum and I walk back to the usual group where they are playing games.

The game they are playing is using a cupboard ruler to hit the ping pong ball.  It so happen my mum was sitting next to the auntie who always said I want to go home.  When the ping pong ball was near them, both of them were wanting to hit it.  Out of sudden, the auntie becomes unhappy and starts scolding my mum, I was not spared too.

The staffs has to intervene, and one of the staff ask apologize and ask not to blame her due to get confusion.  Reply the staff I don't blame the auntie.  My mum was then ask to sit at another area so as to let the auntie cool down.

I then heard that for future activities, they will not be seated together.
