The other time, bought this Otah on my day trip to Johor Bahru to look for Catherine. Catherine was mentioning about slicing the otah and steam with egg.
In the end, i use half of the otah, mash it and steam it with one egg
Steamed egg with otah after steaming
How does it taste? Is it very salty?
ReplyDelete应该很正点吧?!
ReplyDeleteWe did the same way too. It tastes really good!
ReplyDeleteNice? Just has "otah" the other night - will blog about it soon. I'm more used to the name "otak-otak".

ReplyDeleteOk lah...
I didn't add salt and forgot to add soy sauce to the egg, so it was plain...

Looks yummy, I want to eat, hehe!!! =]
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sharon,
ReplyDeleteIs it Otak-Otak? Will try this method.
Otah, yum! Perhaps you may want to leave it chunky instead of smashing it up?
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried it with steamed egg. I prefer it natural and normally heat it up by steaming it or putting it on a plate into the rice cooker after the rice is cooked.
As for the individually-wrapped ones, they make great sandwiches too.
If you ever go to Muar, you must try them there. The otah there is more authentic having more fish than fillers. Otah from elsewhere just can't compare IMO.
Thanks for stopping by. Hi!
Sharon learn a new thing from you today. Steamed egg with otah otah.
ReplyDeleteWill come here often once my report finished... I missed some of your post..

I also learn from friend, if not would not know about it... hehe...
I thought the otah would be salty enough so the steamed egg will not need any salt or soy sauce.
ReplyDeleteThe otah is not salty...
ReplyDeleteoh...you remind me..I have one frozen otah-otah in my fridge ><
ReplyDeleteAh, good that the otah is not salty. Can eat a lot then.
