Seeking Opinion

I was taking pictures of foods as usual at a gathering last week.  Was telling a friend that i am writing blog.  The friend ask me what is blog and after explaining a bit about blog to the friend.  The friend told me not to waste time in writing blog.  Is writing blog a waste of time?

As to me, writing a blog is like a diary and to record down some of my daily life.

This is the 2nd time.  The 1st time, another friend was telling me not to spend too much time on blog.

  3. This is the reasons I don;t tell my friends and relatives about my blog. I prefer to write without expectations. Now so many years later, I have made nice friends with so many people like you and others "online". I learn a lot of valuable knowledge and ideas from other bloggers who shared about their travels, restaurants and new products. I also feel happy to share anything in return. My silent readers who emailed me privately are the best motivations I have ever received and they appreciate it.

Most of my male friends are sadly morons and bigots who spend lots of time playing online games, gambling, drinking and womanising! Some are so broke and go around borrowing money before disappear into thin air.

I only have 2 bloggers from Singapore whom I am following today. I get a lot of food & weather updates from you always. So please continue yeah! Wakakaka

My wife and I use my blog postings as references often to recall the dates of our trips. It is really like a diary now.

BTW it is so damn hot today! I am sweating buckets of sweats since yesterday.

    1. I would advise your friend not to spend to much time on her Facebook. This media has poisoned many minds besides creating jealousy amongst the shallow minded. Better read blogs la.

  5. If it make you or me happy, who gives a damn what others say? Ask them what they do - bet we will also think that it's a sheer waste of their time. People are such busybodies - why should they care what we do when we are not bothered at all what they do - nosey parkers!

You don't sukak or busy, you stop a while lor.. Your like, your blog ma..

  7. it's actually a very subjective and personal opinion whether blogging is a waste of time.. to us bloggers of course we find 1001 reasons to blog.. anyway, if the frequency doesn't click, then no point bothering about your friend's opinion.. to each his own, but we are nobody to criticize other people's passion.. :)

  9. If you don't blog, what do you do during your free time? Play online games? That is even more meaningless. At least through blogging, it helps to relieve my stress, my vocabulary improved, I get to read information about new products, restaurants and other countries, I learned something, I must say I enjoy blogging a lot

  10. Well, it's entirely up to you. And, you can earn some $$ from blogs. Depends on your priority lor... And, yes it can be time wasting too but so as other hobbies/recreations.

  13. Next time you just reply them, "that's my hobby, I can do whatever I like, not like you can control, I felt very happy when I was writing my blog" then they would have nothing to say already. Sometimes we just have to make a conclusion for people stop asking and stop them 單方面先入為主。

  14. It all depends on individual. I blog as a hobby and I get to know many blogging friends, people like you, Sharon. As long as we set our priorities right and not go overboard, we can enjoy. It all depends on where our interest is.

  16. You are blogging for yourself not for them so don't let people tell you what to do with your life.

I've been blogging since 2003 and it's learning experience. When I look back my old entries, I learn to laugh/amaze at myself over the thing I used to do or say. It's like a memory bank of my past.

    Keep on blogging!
