Day 2 in Hospital (24th Nov)

My mum was admitted to Ward 12, but transfer to Ward 5 after I left on the 1st day of her hospitalization as they need to do some test for her heart at that ward, that what I was told.

The visiting hours for visitors on Mon to Fri are 12 noon to 2pm, 5pm to 8.30pm. Sat and Sun are from 12 noon to 8.30pm.

Not too sure if I can go early, I start my day going for the exercise session at my neighbourhood park which is from 8am to 9am.  Went back to shower, then show my face at PPHCSC for the breakfast session.  Stay for a while before I went back, collect my things and go to the hospital.

Reach around 10 plus, went to the registration counter to check if I could go in earlier.  Was told that they will register me as the caregiver to my mum and I can go in anytime till she's discharge.

There's a Garden at Level 5

Relatives came to visit my mum, after the visit, we went Hanis for lunch.  I had the half roasted chicken set which comes with a soup and drink.

Left at around 8.15pm and went Fairprice X'tra walk one round before going back.

Not a good day/Day 1 in Hospital (23th Nov)

My mum was scheduled for MRI Scan (Brain) at the Hospital (23rd Nov) at 10am.  We arrived early at around 9am.  After waiting a while, my mum was called to change and then go for the scan.  Half way through the scan, a staff came out to ask me whether wants to let me mum proceed with an injection which will better visualise certain areas.  Ok, proceed.  The scan takes around 30 minutes.

After the scan, which is payment time, that is where my heartbeat beats very fast. But luckily got Government subsidy, if not, I will faint at looking at the bill. The injection itself already cost $267.

Ask my mum what she wants to eat, her answer, bread.  We went Ya Kun.

She wants the steam bread set @ $4.50

I order a kaya butter cracker @ $2

While waiting for the bread, my mum was grumbling about the injection, and telling the nurse ok ok, but the nurse told her, not yet finish.

Then we went for second round at the Food Court near the Bus Interchange.  Ordered a Saba fish with chicken @ $6.

Then we went back. Rest a while, then go PPHCSC read newspaper.  Come home, handphone rang.  The call was from the hospital, asking me to bring my mum to the hospital as the scan shows some abnormal, to collect a memo (by the Memory Doctor which my mum seen in September) from the Outpatient Specialist Clinic and then to the Emergency Dept.
Not too sure what test or whatever they did to my mum.  But my mum was admitted to the Hospital.

At the ward, a female Doctor came, some communication problem, she can't speak Mandarin, my mum can't speak English.  Then came two male Doctor.  One spoke Mandarin and another spoke Melayu, so can communicate.  Then came the speech therapist wanted to see if my mum has any shallowing problem, etc.

My mum dinner at the Hospital, porridge with minced pumpkin, carrot and tofu.  Fruit is watermelon.

My mum keeps saiding she's wants to go home, a nurse then told her, you just came in. Then she starts blaming me, saiding I ask her to go hospital, if not, she won't be admitted to hospital.

I left at around 7.45pm.

It's Saturday (18th Nov)

Brought my mum to the Saturday 1.30pm Hokkien Service at Tanglin Road.  Actually to say, I quite like the timing of the service, don't have to rush in the morning for service.  And after the service, go makan then go back to catch the weekly weekend 7pm Taiwan show.

As usual, was at Bukit Merah Central for early dinner.  The Food Centre is not ready yet, still under repair works. So, not much variety of foods to choose from.  Went to the usual coffeeshop where my mum had minced meat kway teow @ $3.50.

The soup for the kway teow

Has been a while since I had bee Hoon mee goreng, and also my mum likes bee hoon bee goreng, so order a plate @ $3.50 so I could share some with her.

As usual, mouth itchy, bought a piece of apple pie from the neighbourhood bakery, which I find nothing to shout about.

Hardly

It has been a while since I met my workout kaki Sharon T.  Sharon is a filial daughter.  Everyday after work, she will goes to her mum place.  From what I understand, after her marriage, she without fail, will goes to her mum's place everyday after work and also on weekend.  Her mum place and her place is not far apart.  Her mum is not well and her siblings with a maid is taking turn taking care of the mum.  One of the day (Wednesday), she will work from home and be at her mum's place.  So she could not go for workout regularly.

On Monday, she could go for workout as understand from her that her brother will be back early.  She need not go her mum's place that night.

Even if she goes for workout, hardly will we have chance to go for dinner or drink as she needs to go to her mum's place.  The most is chit chat for a while.

She has arrange with the Instructor to go for dinner as she wants to treat the Instructor dinner as the Instructor has been teaching in that venue for a year.  Anniversary dinner.

We were at a Vietnamese eatery located at Mapletree Business City.

Since I was not very hungry, so I went for something light, small bite.

The sauce for the small bite

Although the dinner session is not long as the Instructor need to rush back to take care of the child, but had a good time catching up and chit chatting.  Also thanks to Sharon T for the blessed dinner.

Sunday (12th Nov)

Since I am meeting friend on Saturday, didn't bring my mum to the Saturday Hokkien Service in Tanglin Road, went Sunday morning Church Service in Bukit Batok (the Church have 2 worship centre, one in Tanglin Road, another in Bukit Batok).

The Church have a cafe selling breakfast, the service starts at 9am, but we were there at 8am as to have breakfast there.  My mum wants Nasi  Lemak @ $1.50.

I ordered a Mee Siam @ $2.  Was told next week, they will be closed and will reopen in January 2018.

After the service, we went to the Food Centre at Jurong East St. 24 to have our lunch.  My mum wants porridge.  There are two stalls selling porridge, the stall I wanted to order from has sold out their porridge.  So order from the other stall.  Ordered a fish plus meatball porridge @ $4 for my mum.  I didn't order for myself porridge as I never try this stall before.

Walk around to see what to eat where I saw an elderly lady unconscious, a guy was doing CPR for her. Kudo to the guy.  If me, I don't think i have the guts to do it as the other time when I learn CPR, it was done on dummy.

Saw a stall selling wanton mee, a few customers queuing and I join in the queue and order a fried dumpling noodle @ $3.50.

Will queuing for the food, saw the ambulance arrive.  Hope the elderly lady is alright.

After that, went to the nearby coffeeshop to drink coffee before going back. Coffee @ $1.10 each.

Osaka Ohsho @ Bugis Junction (11th Nov)

Meetup with a long time no see friend at Bugis Junction for lunch.  We walk a few rounds before deciding on what to eat.

We were at Osaka Ohsho at the basement of Bugis Junction.

Friend had the Salmon rice set

Set comes with gyoza, can't remember the name of it as receipt with my friend.

From the menu, the teriyaki chicken dry ramen looks good, beside I have not try ramen in dry version before as usually what I had is soup version.  When the food is served, the teriyaki chicken looks so different from the menu.

The ramen

My favourite gyoza

After the lunch, we went desserts at Bugis + before we call it a day.

Yong Tau Foo Hotplate with Mi Tai Bak @ Sunset Way

The other time, didn't manage to do much walking due to the sudden heavy downpour, then on another round, saw that the weather is good, decided to walk the Ulu Pandan Park Connector which is near my place, it takes about 15 minutes from my place to the starting point of the Park Connector.  I end up at Sunset Way after about 35 minutes walk.

Was a bit hungry at that point of time, so decided to go makan.

End up at a coffeeshop and ordered  hotplate yong tau foo with mi tai bak @ $4.80.  Guess mi tai bak is not popular as saw the guy took out a container with the mi tai bak in it from the fridge.  As the noodles, bee hoon, etc., it was place at the side where he did the cooking.

After eating, pass by a shop selling chicken pie, the chicken pie is $0.50 more than the hotplate yong tau foo mi tai bak.  I should have walk a round before decide what to eat. Too quick to make decision. If I first saw the chicken pie, I will go for it.

扫兴

Has been a while since I did any walking and also has been a bit of stress out lately.  Thought of having some me time by going for a walk.

Lately, it has been raining past midnight. Thinking it won't rain in the day time, thought I will go walk at the nearest park connector near my place which is the Ulu Pandan Park Connector.

When I start the walk, saw that the sky has turn dark, I thought I will walk the shortest route, to Tradehub 21, then have a cup of coffee before back.

Oh no, walk a bit, sudden there is a heavy downpour, at first, I thought of not bringing umbrella, but thank God, I did bring it along.  If not, I will be drench.  And also, it's not Natural Reserves, if not, I will not know what to do.

Exit at the nearest exit and took a bus back to Jurong East Interchange.

Went Westgate, there's a Honolulu Cafe which I have yet to try, thought I will have tea break there before going back.  Ordered a Egg tart which I find alright.  Then a coffee to go along with it, but the coffee, nothing to shout about, for the price and the standard of the coffee, I could get 3 cups of it if I were to have it at coffeeshop.

Nasi Lemak @ Malaysia Boleh (Jurong Point)

Try out the Nasi Lemak from Malaysia Boleh @ Jurong Point.

A set cost $3.50

Guess the chicken wing has been there for a while as it's cold, it will be nicer if it's hot.

The ikan bilis is nice, very crispy

No comment for the half hard-boil egg

Loves the sambal, should have request for a bit more.

Rice, just nice
